Dynamic Balancing
Excessive vibration in rotating machinery can substantially reduce the life of shaft bearings. SZU Solutions balances all of pump rotors on an IRD soft balancing machine or a Schenk hard balancing machine. Depending on the rotor, SZU Solutions has the right machine to balance your pump rotors, from the smallest ANSI pump rotors up to 118″ rotors weighing 50,000 lbs. Our machines are calibrated by a 3rd party service on an annual basis. In addition, SZU Solutions has our own certified test rotors to insure proper tolerances.
Rotor Press
Disassembling pump rotors safely is an important aspect of protecting your equipment when it comes into our shop for repair. SZU Solutions has one of the largest wheel presses – not just in Illinois – but in the entire country. It is capable of applying 500 tons of force on rotors up to 110″. In addition, depending on the rotor size and configuration, SZU Solutions has the right press for virtually every job, including H-frame and puller presses.
Mechanical Seal Repair
SZU Solutions’ vast repair capability includes a full-service, mechanical seal repair facility capable of lapping, testing and assembly. We repair all types and sizes of mechanical seals. We are a distributor for tungsten carbide, silicon carbide, and ceramic faces for all types of seals, both standard and custom engineered and all your cartridge seals are fully pressurized and tested. Many customers ship us their old seal for a repair proposal. In addition, we maintain a large inventory for trade-in, trade-up.
